Mr John bought something from a big shop last month and when he got the bill a few days ago, he thought that there was a mistake in it, so he telephoned the shop and asked to speak to the Accounts Department : " Who did you want to speak to in the Accounts Department?", the telephone operator asked.
"It doesn't master to me", Mr John answered. He didn't know the name of any the people who worked there. He heard nothing for a few seconds and then the operator said: "Hello, you wanted to speak to someone in the Accounts Department, didn't you?".
"Yes, that's right", Mr John answered.
"Would you like to speak to Mr Alex?", the operator said.
"Yes, that'll be all right. It doesn't master who I speak to...", Mr John said patiently.
"I'm sorry, but Mr Alex isn't in today", the operator answered.

Tháng trước ông John mua một số thứ ở một cửa hàng lớn. Cách đây mấy hôm khi nhận được hóa đơn, ông nghĩ rằng họ đã tính nhầm gì đó. Ông gọi điện đến cửa hàng, xin được nói chuyện với phòng tài vụ. Người trực điện thoại hỏi : "Thưa ông, ông muốn nói chuyện với ai trong phòng tài vụ?"
"Ai cũng được", Ông John trả lời. Ông không biết tên của những người làm trong phòng đó. Ông không thấy ai trả lời và một lúc sau người trực điện thoại nói : "A lô, ông muốn nói chuyện với một người nào đó trong phòng tài vụ phải không ạ?"
"Vâng", Ông John trả lời.
"Ông muốn nói chuyện với ông Alex ạ?", người trực điện thoại nói.
"Vâng, thế cũng được. Tôi nói chuyện với ai cũng được ...", Ông John kiên nhẫn nói.
"Tôi xin lỗi, nhưng ông Alex hôm nay không đến", người trực điện thoại trả lời.
